Tony brings over 20 years experience in both government and business sectors to the growing Assymetrix client base. Tony's ability to innovate and improve business processes has been widely recognised by his clients. His background includes operational roles as well as technical/business project management and consulting. Tony focuses quickly on what matters, and finds new, innovative ways of achieving great outcomes for clients using best fit approaches rather than off-the-shelf methodologies. His goal is simple: to save money and add value to your business.
Since 1996, Tony has worked at a senior level for a wide range of public companies including CBA, Shell Europe, MBNA Europe, Westpac, NAQ Technology and National Australia Bank. As an experienced and long serving Royal Navy Officer, he was Programme Manager for one of the Navy’s largest IT transformation strategies, involving some $400m in IT expenditure.
Tony's considerable experience, insight and capability have built a proven and demonstrable track record of successful project delivery. Tony's main focus is on Sourcing and Supply Chain, Spend Analysis, Accounts Payables, and electronic transaction processing. Additionally, he has extensive experience in banking, including the operational and technical processing of Mortgages, Credit Cards and a variety of other banking products. As an accredited Master Project Director (Australian Institute of Project Managers) and Six Sigma Black Belt, Tony has mastered a wide range of techniques and technologies that can be deployed for clients in any area of business. Tony has extensive experience of implementing e-procurement, expense management, spend analysis and a range of other electronic sourcing tools including contract management. He has a detailed working knowledge of Oracle and a number of other ERP technologies. He is one of the few people to have implemented a full spend analysis solution combining multiple datasets.
Tony has managed a number of large, complex technical and business projects from initiation to completion and has earned a reputation for achieving results under the toughest of circumstances. As an accomplished and experienced Naval and Civilian Trainer, Tony can mentor client staff to achieve great outcomes – and then transfer skills to staff so that momentum is maintained for the long term. Tony's leadership and communication skills allow him to engage staff effectively and to build empowered project teams.
Tony holds an MBA and M.Sc. in Information Technology.
